Berloque Dermatitis is a type of skin disorder in which patients develop a brownish to reddish discoloration of the neck and sometimes the arms because of applying cologne or perfume to the skin.

Many perfumes and colognes may have oil of bergamot, an extract of the peel of a specific orange, in them. When this oil comes in contact with the skin and the skin is exposed to sunlight, the oil of bergamot causes the skin colour to change . With repeated exposures to sunlight, the discoloration becomes permanent.

• Avoid applying perfoume to sun exposed skin.
• Depigmenting Agents
• Tretinoin cream
• Daily sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher
• Laser treatment treatment may be an effective treatment in the future

After a period of several months, the dermatitis may subside, even if not treated.
